"Volunteer Appreciation & Why I'm Not Lying About Wyden-Bennett Obama Lite"

Cherilyn Eagar sent a message to the members of Cherilyn Eagar for
U.S. Senate - Principles for a Change.

Subject: Volunteer Appreciation & Why I'm Not Lying About
Wyden-Bennett Obama Lite

I sent out a memo thanking the volunteers who came to the Utah County
Republican Party Picnic and left out one important name - Tim
Schomberg.  I don't think he has ever missed an event.  Thank you Tim!

This brings up the topic of volunteerism in general.  We have a
generous and dedicated team of volunteers who have worked - no,
sacrificed - throughout the summer to get things done and to miracles
happen.   I owe special thanks to the entire team:

Nancy Acquisto, Anita Andrews, Shirley Ashworth, Carl Bacon, Corrie
Chan, Fred Cox, Dana Dickson, Randy Eagar, Bob Engemann, Ken
Farnsworth, David Kyle Herring, Rod Hjelm, Robyn Hyatt, Trenton Jones,
Craig Jorgensen, Sheldon Kinsel, Rich Kuchinsky, Jared Law, Dennis
Lisonbee, Kabe Little, Christine McClory, Sandy McDade, David Pyne,
Don Ruzicka, Victor Shanti, Tim Schomberg, Susan Southwick, Ben
Thompson, Pam Warren, Randlyn Wilde.

This is what we call a true grassroots campaign.  We're up against big
money.  But we have THE PEOPLE and the PASSION.  This is a David and
Goliath campaign, to be sure.  But even David needed a few smooth
stones.

We need your help.  We hope to report $25,000 in donations by the next
FEC reporting period, September 30, 2009.  Will you help us with a
donation of $10, $35 or $100?  You can donate up to $2,400 from a
personal account.  You can easily donate on the website
http://www.facebook.com/l/;www.Eagar4Senate.com or send a donation to
P.O. Box 901839, Sandy, Utah 84117.

We're fighting for all the media we can get.  This is a Jason Chaffetz
kind of campaign.  But he won it and we will too.

We've made several attempts to draw the attention of our local media
to the dangers of the Wyden-Bennett health care bill, particularly the
section about the non-church owned insurance requirement to cover
abortions and the grants that will be made available for setting up
comprehensive school-based health clinics.

I've worked for many years against these big government, socialist
solutions.  I ran for the school board in Dallas in 1990.  Even though
I was new and an unknown, we succeeded in preventing the clinics from
being set up there.  Why were we concerned?

Because the purpose for "comprehensive" health care clinics in the
middle and secondary schools was to provide abortion counseling and
condom distribution.  We fought against the "14 Steps of Condom Use"
and I faxed the information to Rush Limbaugh who took it nationwide.
It was outrageous, and we defeated it.

My friends, make no mistake, I'm a Reagan Republican and always have
been.  My parents helpt him get started in politics with a speech to
the California Medical Association about Medicare, the dangers of
socialized medicine.

Both parties have contributed to this problem of debt and big
government we face today.  I've been a school teacher, but since when
is abortion counseling and condom distribution the role of the federal
government?  Or even the role of the public school?  Reagan won the
presidency on the pledge to remove the federal government from
education entirely.  As Americans who value our freedom, that should
still be our goal.

Watch out for Wyden-Bennett Obama Lite.  It's sitting in the wings
should the President's bill go down.  I'm not alone in my assessment
of the Wyden-Bennett health care plan.  I spoke to 150 policy leaders
in Washington DC in July and we discussed our senator's involvement in
bringing socialized medicine to America.

Club for Growth announced recently that it is buying $90,000 media in
Utah to defeat our incumbent senator over this bill.  (He is the 8th
most liberal Republican in the Senate, according to the American
Conservative Union)

The Heritage Foundation also posted an analysis that listed its
concerns.  Here's the link:

I've sent news releases and alerts out since mid-July, but apparently
no media outlet has been willing to pick it up.  My opponent's
supporters are now calling me a "liar."  I'm glad the other opponent -
our incumbent attorney general - finally joined me this month in
denouncing this bill, but he too made no mention of the abortion
mandate and clinic grants.

One woman even shouted at me at the GOP picnic last Saturday, calling
me a liar, as I shook people's hands.  My friends, I have a copy of
this bill.  I have read it.  If you doubt what I'm saying, read this
bill for yourself. It's another government-managed proposal.  Here's
the link:

Health care should not be a federal issue.  Constitutionally, this
matter should and must be referred to the various states.  Return to
them the authority to decide how they will handle health care.

If our elected officials had not merged business with government years
ago and introduced the unethical practice of horse trading votes for
earmarks, we would not be in this terrible deficit spending and
centralized  government mode.

So I have four simple favors to ask that won't take too much time:

1. Get involved in your state's Patrick Henry Caucus, a movement to
restore states' rights.

2. Study the research on http://www.facebook.com/l/;www.ICaucus.org -
you will see the connection between campaign funds and the votes and
why our elected leaders don't really represent WE THE PEOPLE any more.

3. Post this message on your Facebook page and encourage your friends
to get involved.

4. Give a generous donation today on our secure website
http://www.facebook.com/l/;www.Eagar4Senate.com

God bless you and God bless America!
